Usability Analyst Cupertino, CA
Responsibilities
The Usability Analyst will be responsible for providing user centered design activities relating to website and web application development. He or she will collaborate with team members to understand the user centered design needs of the projects. The Usability Analyst will work with design and development teams to balance good design with real-world time constraints, using a collaborative, flexible approach. The analyst will support the Lead Usability Engineer in conducting lab studies, compiling results, and preparing results, and participating in client presentations. The analyst will also be instrumental in design reviews and the design documentation process.
Required Skills
- Minimum BA in cognitive psychology, human factors, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2 - 4 years experience in either software application development or user-centric web design environments
- 1 – 2 years moderating usability studies / user-centered research
- Direct experience with a variety of usability and testing methods a must
- Should be familiar with basic and discount usability techniques, as well as principles and theories of human-computer interaction
- Demonstrated skill in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data
- Experience with statistics and experimental design strongly preferred
- Strong skills using Microsoft Excel preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent team player in a dynamic team of developers, designers and researchers
